Technology: What Powers the FreedomFlex FR Line

PyroSafe Fabric by Antex
PyroSafe is a knit FR fabric manufactured by Antex Knitting Mills in Los Angeles, California. The flame resistance is built into the fabric through a proprietary treatment process that bonds permanently to the fiber. It does not wash out. The lifetime flame-resistance guarantee is backed by roll-level testing in an ISO 17025-certified laboratory.

The 93% cotton / 7% Elastane knit construction delivers mechanical stretch in four directions. The cotton base keeps the fabric breathable and soft against skin. The Elastane adds stretch and recovery so the shirt holds its shape for the life of the garment.

FUZE Anti-Odor Technology
FUZE is a permanent anti-odor technology built into the PyroSafe fabric. It works by mechanically targeting and eliminating the bacteria that produce odor, not by masking it. The treatment is non-toxic, non-ionic, and non-leaching. It does not use surfactants or chemical binders. FUZE meets a 95% odor reduction threshold within 24 hours of wear.

FUZE technology improves with washing. As dirt is removed, bacteria comes into contact with the FUZE treatment faster. The protection is permanent for the garment’s useful life.

Moisture Management
The knit construction moves perspiration from the inside of the garment to the outside, where it spreads and evaporates. BAAL Tunnel testing shows FUZE-treated fabrics dry 10 to 25 percent faster than identical untreated fabrics, keeping workers cooler and drier on long shifts.

UVA/UVB Protection
FUZE treatment refracts harmful UV wavelengths, protecting garment color and fiber over time.
