Technology Meets Cut Protection
As technology has evolved so has hand protection. Technical fabrics such as HPPE and other sophisticated yarns made with blends of Kevlar®, Nylon and steel wire have improved glove performance.
Through a combination and thickness of materials and increasing the material’s weight per yard, today’s cut resistant gloves offer increased hand protection.
ANSI/ISEA 105 (2001/2011) had five cut-level ratings of how gloves were classified, based on test results, which were changed in 2016, the five changed to nine cut-levels to better identify users with improved performance levels of cut protection for a glove.
